EASY HOW-TOs!
Sometimes working on modules or layouts takes high skill levels, but below are ways you can get started, even if you are just a beginner!
Tree Making Hints & Tips and Step-by-Step Instructions
SANDING PINK INSULATION FOAM FOR YOUR LAYOUT/MODULE:
- Initial Shaping:For significant shaping, it’s often recommended to start with a utility knife or saw to remove large chunks of foam, then use sandpaper for fine-tuning.
- Sanding:
- Coarse Sanding (80-120 grit): Use this for leveling and shaping the foam, removing excess material, and rounding edges.
- Fine Sanding (220-320 grit or higher): This is for smoothing the surface, removing imperfections, and preparing it for painting or coating.
- Dust Control:Pink foam sanding produces a lot of dust. Wear a mask and consider using a vacuum cleaner with a hose near your work area to minimize the mess.
- Clogging:Sandpaper can clog quickly, especially with coarser grits. Change sandpaper as needed.
- Finishing:After sanding, you can further refine the surface with finer grits, consider using a foam-compatible coating (like a primer or gesso) before painting, and potentially add texture or fill imperfections with foam clay or other fillers.
